An image of old town Prague in autumn

Instagram yoga challenges are popular. This is a fact. They also serve as a way to communicate messages to the yogic community. ZENAGOY yoga brand with the help of brand Ambassadors organised an IG yoga challenge called #dateonthemat . With this challenge we focused on love - to the yoga practice and people who motivate us. The winner of this yoga challenge was allowed to select a person to whom she/he would like to gift the second mat. Today we are presenting the winner of #dateonthemat challenge, Mrs Ivanka, whose biggest inspiration for the yogic journey is her cousin Sharka.

Q: How did yoga enter your Life?

A: I knew about yoga for a very long time ago, but I used to do other sports and physical activities. I really loved (and still love) dance and ballet. I probably started dancing first, not walking. In the high school I liked playing football and volleyball however when I started my studies at the university, almost all my activities went away. After the studies I started a new job and all my long days in the office.

My wonderful cousin Sarka introduced me to yoga recently and I am very grateful to her for this. Yoga helps me with backache and mainly helps me clear my head. It´s really important to find time for yoga practice - the time stops and all daily problems are just gone.

Q: What do you like the most about Instagram yoga challenges?

A: Yoga Challenges on Instagram often forces me to try new yoga poses and it is natural that I want to show to others my gradual, slow progress. It´s motivating. What I especially like about IG yoga challenges is to getting the opportunity to know the stories of other yogis from all around the world.

Q: What is your favorite yoga asana?

A: It really depends on my mood. I like to try new yoga poses, but I truly like the warrior, pigeon, camel. And don´t forget Shavasana (Corpse Pose)!

Q: What is your favorite book and why?

A: I don´t have one favorite book. The books and their moods accompanying me in different periods of my life. I like history, so books with historical and mystery motive are great (e.g. Čachtická paní / J. Nižnánsky). I like poetry as well. I like to look for the meaning between lines in the books I read. I also love reading the relaxing books, for example ""Bridget Jones´s Diary".

Q: What your best friends would tell us about you?

Very difficult question! It is better to ask them!

They would probably tell that I´m loud, friendly and helpful, sometimes very moody. I also love good quality food, coffee, good music, traveling and getting to know new places.

Q: How does your weekend look like?

A: I live in the capital of Czech Republic - the city of Prague. I spend two weekends in month in Prague - where there is a very wide cultural offer of events. Other two weekends I usually spend by travelling or visiting my family at the countryside. I try to relax as much as possible during the weekends.
