Q: What do you like the most about Instagram yoga challenges?

I like meeting new people from the yoga community, and I love getting inspired. At the same time, it's also encouraging to see the yogis that I've met growing and achieving their dreams.

I like imperfection because this is my way of life. It's not about being perfect, but about being personal and fully yourself, and that's why I like and support these challenges!

They are also a challenge for me, especially the new yoga asanas that I haven't done, so there is an opportunity to learn something new. Additionally, they allow me to discover new places and practice Yoga in Nature!

Q: What is your favorite yoga pose?

My favorite asana? This is a very difficult question! I should admit that it often alternates; I like heart-opening asanas, wheel, camel. I also really enjoy headstands and handstands.

Q: How did Yoga enter your life?

Oh, It is a long story! Yoga practice is around me already for more than 15 years, since I was an instructor of dance and aerobics. These were amazing times. My latest profession - clinical speech and language therapist – was very demanding and I didn't have time after work to relax. I did not have the luxury of free time, which I could invest in self-knowledge through conscious movement – yoga.

Because of the intensive working hours and not enough rest, my body started giving the symptoms that there is too much tension in the body, many health problems started coming into the surface: my throat, spine and complicated throat diseases were returning very often, on a regular basis. That was the moment when I have decided to climb out of these problems with the help healing movement – yoga practice. It was 7 years ago when I met very inspiring Czech Yogi who introduced me to yoga practice and showed me how to open the door to Yoga journey. For the last 2 years I am practicing yoga on a regular basis, almost every day and my physical health is blossoming! I feel more connected and in harmony with my body. My passion and love to yoga continues to grow. I should admit, that I never believed that one day I would be able to do a headstand, especially knowing what kind of throat problems I had! To my own surprise – my dream came true. My personal yoga journey is a continues process, which gives me a lot of joy and satisfaction -and this is the goal – to enjoy the process!

Q: What is your favorite book, and why?

I have quite a few! One of them is 'You can heal your life' by Louise Hay. Another one, "Live yoga" by a yogi Václav Krejcik, has so much information about a yogi's lifestyle, descriptions of asanas, and insights into Yoga itself. The last one is "A guide for highly sensitive person", by Judith Orloff. This book has expanded my awareness, opened my eyes on many levels and gave many answers to my questions!

Q: Share with us more, please!

This wonderful book came to me at the perfect time-  the time when I was ready to learn that I am myself being a highly sensitive person (HSP). It explained that people carry this from their childhood and described that being a HSP is no a curse, but actually it is a "gift" - I am a living example of this! This book inspired me to study this subject, to get deeper into it and now it is my profession.

This study of communication's disorders is my passion and it is my dream to make this topic more public. One of the ways to achieve this was in collaboration with other people to write a study book and bring this topic to the University. In fact I will be giving the presentation at the University where I will speak about "soul therapy" or also known as a "mental hygiene", which helps also people who are hyper sensitive. The term "highly sensitive people" is rarely used by doctors. I believe that this term is new for them as they are used the one term the are familiar with - "anxiously sensitive people". I look for every opportunity to talk about this topic with the future nurses and doctors, because I believe it is important.

Q: What would your best friends tell us about you?

I think they would say that I am reliable, friendly, funny, industrious, thoughtful, social, emphatic, and loving! I can listen and understand others well, I'm respectful and non-judgmental, and I wish to inspire others with my humility.

Q: What does your weekend look like?

When I have a busy weekend, I love to go out in Nature, as this is my opportunity to relax and re-charge. I often connect my time in Nature with my Yoga practice - this is my love!

I like to take the time to listen to interesting audio lectures on lifestyle, thinking, movement, and spirituality. I often do this during the weekend while cleaning! Listening to music is a necessity for me to re-charge my energy, including regular meditation.

I often cook or bake and create new, Paleo-based recipes. On Sundays, I love spending time with my niece and nephew and my whole family. My weekend isn't the same all the time, as we all know - things change, challenges happen, and other things seem to pop up and consume our time. However, I do try to make sure that I have time for activities that allow me to rest and regenerate.

Q: What advice would you give to a yoga beginner?

Try to find your own specific way in Yoga, because this way you will really fall in love with this practice and it will become a part of who you are and how you live. Take time for yourself, and follow your body and soul, fully. You can look up to others, it's rewarding, but always focus on doing things your own way. That's the goal!

Be as kind and generous as possible to your body, and let gratitude and joy accompany you in every yoga asana. Let being a part of a yoga family be an inspiration to you, but also a place of understanding and respect. Let Yoga be a space for you to find and overcome your boundaries, and be a beautiful example for others.
